JURY HEARS EVIDENCE IN
LIQUOR POSSESSION CASE
Defendant Testifies He Did Not
Know Whiskey Was on His Premises.
Taking of testimony was in progress in Falls county district
court today in the case of F. M. Court, charged with Illegal possession of
intoxicating liquor.
Testifying n his own behalf, the defendant stated he was present at the time
officers seized the alleged whiskey at this place of business on Wood street in
Marlin, but that he did not know how it came to be there
except from what he "had been told." The court sustained the
state's objection to hearsay evidence.
Members of the jury in the case are J. C. Hargrove, R. H. Jones, L. J.
Bruggman, J. A. Reed, J. L. Belk, J. H. Gameson, L. P. Doree, W. F. Lott, Eddie
Sebesta, C. C. Holland, Rudolph Newman, T.A. Powers.
